Maximizing Return on Big Data

Never before have we experienced such a profound transformative change in computing, which is taking the notion of “the information age” to a level unimagined even a few years ago. Cloud, social and mobile computing are changing everything in the world of data, and leading to the massive rise in variety, complexity and volume now dubbed “big data”. Capitalizing on the business value of big data while avoiding unforeseen cost, complexity, and risk has become critical to your future success. In this session, you will...

  • Uncover disciplines for measuring and continuously maximizing your “return on data”, defined as the value of data divided by the cost of data
  • Understand the impact of these megatrends on how you create, manage and utilize data
  • Examine the multiple facets of the big data phenomenon, and its impact on your organization
  • Learn about the latest release of the Informatica Platform, Informatica 9.5, and the capabilities necessary to ensure that you don’t merely cope in the era of big data, but that you thrive.

Eliminate SaaS Sprawl with Cloud Data Integration

According to IDC, software as a service (SaaS) spending will grow by 105% between 2011 and 2015. Is your organization ready? Do you have a plan to integrate data between cloud and on-premise applications? What about cloud to cloud? Welcome to the world of “hybrid IT.” In this session, you will learn...

  • Why data integration has been recognized as top barrier to cloud computing adoption
  • The primary cloud data integration and data quality use cases
  • How to balance the need for speed with the need for strong IT governance and control
  • How Informatica Cloud can enable maximum cloud application adoption and success.

Big Data Analytics

The most alluring promise of big data is analytics— analytics that provide key insights into business operations or customer behavior to deliver top line growth, cost reduction, or risk mitigation. However, organizations struggle with the daunting tasks of handling such large volumes of data, processing it, and making sense of it. Adding to the volume challenge, the velocity, complexity and variety of data also continue to increase exponentially. Traditional approaches to integrating and preparing data for analysis simply can’t cope with new big data requirements. To harness the analytical power of new computing technologies, including big data appliances and Hadoop, organizations need to master the latest in big data integration architectures and techniques. In this session, you will learn...

  • The challenges associated with big data analytics
  • The key requirements and best practice approaches for big data integration
  • Approaches for bridging the gap between traditional and big data analytical environments.

Lean Data Management – Delivering on SLAs

Big data is causing exponential growth. This growth is not only pushing the limits of hardware and storage, but it is also adversely impacting application and data warehouse performance. Performance service level agreements (SLAs) are harder to meet when dealing with larger data sets. While smart partitioning strategies can boost application performance by making the active or frequently data optimally available, archiving strategies can phase out inactive data keeping the warehouses lean. In this session, you will learn...

  • Approaches to lean data management
  • Archiving and partitioning strategies to improve query performance, shrink backup/recovery windows, and significantly lower database/infrastructure costs
  • Customer success stories.
